The preparatory discussions between the parties have started after the signing, at the beginning of the year, of the Memorandum of Understanding by Thomas Reeves, the Global Vice-President of IBM and Dr. Dorin Florea, the Mayor of Tîrgu-Mureş Municipality, in the presence of the Prime Minister Emil Boc and of the Minister Valerian Vreme.
With the support of the Mayors from Cluj, Braşov and Alba Iulia, the initiative provided an opportunity to the researchers in these academic centers to develop, along with the researchers in Tirgu Mures, 28 potential projects, from which a number of 6 were selected by IBM, according to the signed Memorandum.
“The projects generated by the Romanian researchers can revolutionize important activities in the medical sector” said the Minister Valerian Vreme in the official press release posted on the Ministry’s site
