Thursday, April 7, 2011, the Italian Ambassador at Bucharest, His Excellency Mario Cospito, accompanied by Carmelo Barbera, the Italian embassy's trade representative, Luka Serena, the president of Confindustria Romania, Mario Iaccarino, the Director of The National Institute for Foreign Trade of Italy, Matteo Montanari, the president of Confindustria Mures branch, along with a group of Italian businessmen were the guests of the Mayor of Tirgu Mures Municipality, Dr. Dorin Florea.

The discussions focused on issues concerning bilateral economic and cultural relations, and also the business opportunities for the Italian investors in Tirgu Mures. During the meeting, the Mayor Dorin Florea has submitted to the Italian guests the possibility of establishing in Tirgu Mures, on a reciprocal basis, an economic representation named 'Casa Italia’, which will polarize multiple areas of cooperation in economic and cultural spheres.

Being for the first time in Targu-Mures, His Excellency Mario Cospito, has expressed his openness to encourage such initiatives, especially since the city of Tirgu-Mures is among the first places in the country in terms of presence and weight of Italian investments.
